Former top-10 player Fish eyes full schedule after 6 months off because of heart

American tennis player Mardy Fish hopes to put together a full tournament schedule the rest of this season after he ends a six-month absence brought on by a heart condition.

His agent, John Tobias, said Wednesday that Fish is "excited to get back on the court and be on the tour."

Tobias says the former top-10 player is "working out every day, for three to four hours a day."

Fish wrote on his Twitter feed this week that that the hard-court tournament at Indian Wells, Calif., on March 7-17, will be the first official event of his return. He's scheduled to play Novak Djokovic in a charity exhibition Monday.

Fish hasn't played a competitive match since early September, when he withdrew from the U.S. Open on doctor's advice.
