Detour

pets of the week

Cindy / Siberian husky / 12 years

Cindy is as spry as a pup and a popular pooch in our Transcona neighbourhood. She was adopted almost 10 years ago from the Winnipeg Humane Society, and still gleefully jumps into the truck when she knows we're heading to the cottage. Here she is in the front seat, smiling with the thought of soon getting into the bush, where she can sniff around for grouse and make her rounds visiting the neighbours to mooch some treats.

Ozzy / emu / 10 years

Despite his not so welcoming appearance, our friend Ozzy the emu has become our best friend. We adopted Ozzy four years ago. He loves to spend his summer days eating bugs and strolling in his large pasture with his llama and sheep buddies. He is truly a wonderful friend and an awesome pet.
