Winnipeg Free Press - PRINT EDITION
Great Winter Escape Contest
Winter has arrived, and with it Manitobans' favourite pastime -- searching for the best vacation package to escape the ice and cold.
The Winnipeg Free Press and Signature Vacations are here to help with our annual Great Winter Escape contest. This year's theme is 'Getting the Best Value' in a vacation, and we'll profile five of Signature's most popular resort chains in five different locations, all accessible on non-stop flights from Winnipeg.
One lucky winner will be able to choose between five different resorts in Mexico or the Dominican Republic for a seven-night, all-inclusive vacation, including airfare. Plus, if the winner is a six-day subscriber, he or she will also receive a $500 gift certificate from Journeys Travel and Leisure Supercentre.
The five resort chains are: Barcelo Hotels and Resorts, Iberostar Resorts, AM Resorts, H10 Ocean Resorts and Bahia Principe. All have extensive hotels in Mexico and the Caribbean and each one offers a unique experience.
According to Pat Rachey, General Manager for Signature Vacations for Western Canada, finding the right resort for the right holiday can be exhausting if you don't know what to look for.
"Picking a hotel from any of these five major chains means you will be getting great value, unsurpassed service, and a variety of restaurant options," she says.
So the choice is yours. Do you want the Signature Club Barcelo La Jolla de Mismaloya resort in Puerto Vallarta, the five-star AM Resorts Dreams Huatulco, the expansive Bahia Principe in the Riviera Maya, the upscale Iberostar Costa Dorada in Puerto Plata, or the Ocean Sand by H10 in popular Punta Cana area of the Dominican Republic? All of the hotels are situated on gorgeous beaches and feature endless choices of activities, entertainment and dining experiences.
Readers can enter each week by clipping out the ballot box and mailing it in or dropping it off at the Winnipeg Free Press building.
Entries can also be dropped at Journeys Travel and Leisure Supercentre at the Corner of Donald and Warsaw. Or you can enter online at www.winnipegfreepress.com/contests
The contest will run weekly in the Saturday Travel section from today until January, 2. All entries must be in by noon on Wednesday, January 6.
