Stiff upper lip: Grand Rapids festival of laughter again trying for world record
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Organizers of a Grand Rapids laughter festival are going for a third world record in as many years.
They're asking participants to help set a new Guinness World Record for the largest gathering of people wearing false moustaches.
Gilda's LaughFest says the record try will take place March 7. Those who come to Rosa Parks Circle that day will be provided with an official LaughFest moustache.
According to LaughFest officials, the current fake moustache world record of 648 participants was set in September at an event organized by the St. Louis Rams.
Last year, LaughFest's kickoff event broke a Guinness World Record for the largest number of people wearing fake animal noses. The year before that it was people tossing rubber chickens.
LaughFest runs March 7-17.
