LONGUEUIL, Que. - The latest person arrested in an attack on poker champ Jonathan Duhamel was arraigned Thursday on various charges including conspiracy, armed robbery and uttering threats.
Andres Valderama, 21, pleaded not guilty in the Montreal-area community of Longueuil and was ordered detained after the Crown opposed his release.
Valderama, who allegedly served as the driver in the incident, was arrested in western Quebec on Wednesday night.
The four other people charged in connection with last December's attack include Bianca Rojas-Latraverse, Duhamel's ex-girlfriend.
Her lawyer said earlier this week she will plead guilty to various charges when she appears in court on Friday.
Duhamel was attacked when people broke into his home, tied him up and stole more than $100,000 in cash from a safe along with some of his most prized possessions.
