The Bluths are coming back: 'Arrested Development' returns end of May on Netflix
TORONTO - "Arrested Development" will make its long-awaited return at the end of May.
Netflix says it will release all 15-episodes of the fourth season May 26.
The critically acclaimed comedy will launch at 12:01 a.m. PT in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Latin America, Brazil and the Nordics.
Series creator Mitch Hurwitz says partnering with the online streaming service allows the show to do "something very ambitious that can only be done with Netflix as partners and on their platform."
The previous three seasons are currently streaming on Netflix.
"Arrested Development" centres on Michael Bluth, played by Jason Bateman, and his eccentric family, played by Michael Cera, Jeffrey Tambor, Will Arnett and Portia de Rossi.
"The highly anticipated return of this show is sure to make history all over again," chief content officer Ted Sarandos said Thursday in a release.
"Ted said that? Wow. Well don't print this obviously, but he's going to be immensely disappointed," said Hurwitz.
"In truth, we are doing something very ambitious that can only be done with Netflix as partners and on their platform. Finally my simple wish for the show is coming true: that it be broadcast every second around the clock to every television, computer or mobile device in existence."
