About The Manitoba Museum
Starting October 6th, The Manitoba Museum is the first Planetarium in Canada to offer visitors the Digistar® 5 All-Dome digital projection technology, and with it eight brand new shows. This new projection system will dramatically enhance the visitor experience using two wide-angle video projectors to cover the entire dome with a single seamless video image.
The three shows which will reopen the Planetarium include One World, One Sky: Big Bird’s Adventure, Experience The Aurora and Wonders of the Universe. One World, One Sky features Sesame Street’s Big Bird and Elmo as they encourage young audiences to gaze at the night sky with them. Experience The Aurora explores the phenomenon of the northern lights with time lapse photography. Wonders of the Universe offers an opportunity to discover the solar system as seen by NASA’s robot explorers, covering everything from the cold landscapes of Mars to the rings of Saturn. Admission is $8 for adults, $6.50 for children, students and seniors and $28 for families. For show times and to view trailers, click on:
