73-year-old murders bully from his youth

MADISON, S.D. -- A 73-year-old U.S. man has been sentenced to life in prison for shooting a former classmate over a locker-room incident in school more than five decades ago.

Carl Ericsson was sentenced Friday after pleading guilty but mentally ill to second-degree murder.

Norman Johnson was shot twice in the face Jan. 31. A prosecutor says a jockstrap put over Ericsson's head more than 50 years ago led him to shoot his old classmate. Johnson's daughter said Ericsson was always jealous of her father's success.
