Illegal cigarettes and cash with a value of $9,400 were seized on Tuesday at a home on the Sioux Valley Dakota Nation.
Members of the Dakota Ojibway Police Service executed a search warrant at the residence where they charged one person under the Manitoba Tax Act-Tax Administration and Miscellaneous Act while additional charges are pending.
The investigation, which is continuing, is a result of community complaints about the sale of illegal cigarettes.
Sioux Valley Dakota Nation is located 45 kilometres west of Brandon, and approximately 260 kilometres west of Winnipeg.
