BUFFALO – The Winnipeg Jets lost 5-1 to the Buffalo Sabres on Monday night as their modest one-game winning streak came to an embarrassing end.
Buffalo scored three times in the first period and never looked back, chasing starting goaltender Eric Comrie from the game. Thomas Milic came on in relief and allowed two goals over the final 40 minutes.
Kyle Connor scored the lone goal for Winnipeg.
The Jets fall to 13-12-0 and have now lost nine of their last 13 games. Buffalo improves to 11-11-4.
Winnipeg wraps up its five-game road trip against Montreal on Wednesday night.
