Dinosaur Jr. turns back the clock as 25-year-old song charts in Japan
Maybe we shouldn’t be surprised in this digital age that Over Your Shoulder, a 1994 alt-rock song by underground heroes Dinosaur Jr., hit the top of the charts in Japan. This wasn’t the result of a re-release or push by the band, but rather some recent deals with TV and video games to license the song. It shot up to No. 1 last week overseas, with eight million streams on YouTube. Check out Stereogum at wfp.to/dinosaurjr25 to hear the rediscovered hit.
