The iconic Artspace building in the heart of the Exchange District will be the belle of the ball during the Winnipeg institution’s 30th anniversary celebration Thursday night.
The Lost in Artsp_ace event (8 p.m. to late) stretches from the main floor to the rooftop and boasts something for every culture lover: cinema, photography, music, written and live art performances — all with local food and beverage pairings.
“We think it’s time to celebrate 30 years of Artspace and it’s incredible impact on the Exchange and the arts community,” said Artspace board chairwoman Lynne Stefanchuk. “And what better way to mark this milestone than by showcasing the building and letting art emerge from all of its corners and corridors.”
Participating artists and pairings include: Winnipeg filmmakers Matthew Rankin, Leslie Supnet, Karen Asmundson, Gwen Trutnau, Curtis Wiebe, Trevor Kristjanson and Alain Delannoy; Dinka Pignon (video sculpture); Pat Lazo (visual artist); and writers Chadwick Ginther, Margaret Sweatman and Jason Stefanik.
