Get ready for a Big Fat Greek sequel.
Universal Pictures has picked up Nia Vardalos's script for My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2, the followup to the 2002 indie box-office smash, the website Deadline reported.

The Winnipeg actress-screewriter confirmed the news in a Twitter post.
Vardalos and John Corbett, who played the happy couple in the original, will be back in the sequel, which will be directed by Kirk Jones (Nanny McPhee, What to Expect When You're Expecting).
In June, production companies HBO, Gold Circle and Playtone announced the sequel was in the works.
