Your family is invited to The Forks to watch the Winnipeg Jets home opener with thousands of your closest friends.
On Sunday, the alcohol-free Family FanZone event will take place from noon to 8 p.m. at The Forks with live musical entertainment by country group Doc Walker, folk pop duo Keith and Renee and rock band Quinzy. Other events include a three-on-three street hockey tournament and a CBC FanZone tent with various contests being held throughout the day. The first 1,000 people on site will receive free CBC “cheer gear.”
The Winnipeg Jets game against the Montreal Canadiens will be broadcast on three large screens set up at the Scotiabank Stage. The pre-game show begins at 3:30 p.m. with the puck scheduled to drop at the MTS Centre at 4 p.m.
Following the game, Blue Rodeo will play the adults-only After Burner Social at the Winnipeg Convention Centre. Tickets are $43 at Ticketmaster.
