KEN mode is coming home, but not for a rest.
The hard-touring, Juno-winning, face-melting metallic noise rock act is stopping in for rare hometown gig on Nov. 2 at the Windsor Hotel before grinding it out on the road again. Tickets are $13 and available at ticketworshop.com.
The trio is touring in support of this spring’s Entrench, which just snagged the inaugural award for Metal/Hard Music Recording of the Year at the 2013 Western Canadian Music Awards. (The band also won the first Juno in the new Heavy Metal/Hard Music in 2012 for Venerable.) KEN mode has built a faithful fanbase south of the border and was recently featured in Forbes magazine. Entrench, meanwhile, has earned a pile of glowing reviews from such tastemakers as Exclaim!, Pitchfork, Popmatters and Hellbound.
