THESE Duhks aren’t flying south this winter.

After months on the road touring in support of this year’s Beyond the Blue, the much-acclaimed, Grammy-nominated Winnipeg folk/bluegrass/Appalachian/soul experimentalists are finally playing a hometown CD release show at the West End Cultural Centre on Jan. 8,. Advance tickets are $22 and are available at Ticketmaster, the WECC, the Winnipeg Folk Festival Music Store and Music Trader starting Friday,

The Duhks’ breakthrough 2006 record Migrations — their second for venerated bluegrass label Sugar Hill Records — was nominated for Best Country Performance By a Duo or Group at the 2007 Grammy Awards.
