The Winnipeg Free Press News Café is usually hardcore rock and roll but today it’s going to lighten up a little.
Singer Cassidy Mann is going to drop by for an interview with the paper’s Geoff Kirbyson at 1:45 p.m., and she’ll play a couple of tunes, too.
Mann, a Winnipegger, will be participating in the Western Canadian Music Awards, which are being held here from today until Oct. 5.
The event will be livestreamed here.

Cassidy Mann's 'songs are reminiscent to those of Ingrid Michaelson and Taylor Swift; lead by hooky vocal melodies, a strong voice and a tinge of nostalgia,' her biography states.
