Tickets are $25 and are available at jazzwinnipeg.com or in person at the Jazz Winnipeg office at 007-100 Arthur St., and the West End Cultural Centre.
Brueggergosman's project, which includes a documentary film, focuses on Christian spirituals and songs like Wade in the Water, which took hold during the Underground Railroad movement of the 18th and 19th centuries and regained popularity in the 1960s from artists such as Odetta, Ramsey Lewis and the Staple Singers.
Manitoba acts highlight the organization's Nu Sounds Series in 2017, which include Park Theatre concerts by:
- Marco Castillo on Jan. 15;
- Keith Price on Feb. 19;
- Collection Get on March 26, and
- Amber Epp on April 23.
Tickets for those shows are $15, except for Collection Get, which sell for $25, and are available at jazzwinnipeg.com.
