FILIPINA-Canadian YouTube sensation Maria Aragon is among the local luminaries who will be joining forces with Winnipeg's Filipino community for (SHOW) For The Philippines (#SHOW4PH), a benefit concert to raise funds for Typhoon Haiyan relief on Dec. 6 at the Burton Cummings Theatre. Tickets are $20 plus fees at Ticketmaster.
All funds raised will go to the Canadian Red Cross relief efforts. The Canadian government will match funds raised.
Those Guys, Tiffany Ponce, The Treble and Flo are among the other musicians slated to perform, with more to be announced.
"I felt an overwhelming need that Winnipeggers were capable of doing more for the Philippines," organizer Ron Cantiveros of the Filipino Journal is quoted as saying in a release. "I'm truly blessed and overwhelmed by everyone that stepped up to be part of this amazing concert. It's shaping up to be a beautiful night where we're all there for a single cause."
