Winnipeg's Royal Canoe is up a creek without a paddle.
The indie pop band, currently touring across Canada and the United States, had its equipment trailer stolen Monday morning in the Montreal area.
"This is so devastating for us, it's every bit of musical gear we own," Royal Canoe posted on its Facebook page with photos of the trailer, its licence plate (Z063G) and the equipment inside. The band is asking for help in tracking down the gear, asking pawn shops and musicians to keep an eye out.
The trailer was in a well-lit hotel parking lot with a hitch lock. Band members believe the thieves must have had the tools to cut through metal.
The band played in Halifax on the weekend and is scheduled to perform next on Wednesday in St. Catharines, Ont.
