WINNIPEG'S bartenders have shown they know how to mix it up with the best of them.
Eleven of the city's barkeeps recently qualified for the Made With Love mixology competition, which will take place here in August. Two winners of that event will represent Winnipeg at the nationals, to be held in Montreal in 2014.
The qualifying event was held at Winnipeg's Boa Lounge on May 21. Bartenders were given a black box containing secret ingredients, including a bottle of spirits, and told to concoct an original cocktail.
The local mixologists who qualified include: Marc Tessier (Hermanos Restaurant and Wine Bar), Erik K Thordarson (Deseo Bistro), Pat Morrow (Toad in the Hole), Ogjen Tosic (12 Resto Bar), Ryyan Koleric (Nicolinos and Orbit Room), Brett Intrater (Earls on Main Street), Adam Safiniuk (Whisky Dix Nightclub), Tim Roth (Toad in the Hole), Blake Lelyk (Joey's Kenaston), Tanner Dueck (Earls on Main Street) and Wyatt Greer (Boa Lounge).
