Name: Rock Lopster
Approximate age: 4 years
Breed: Lop mix
Size: Medium Rabbit Sized
Time in care: 1 1/2 years
Meet Rock Lopster, an approximately 4 year old neutered male lop-mix under the care of Popcorns and Binkies Rescue Haven.
He was found alone and injured in a parking lot, but some wonderful people rescued him! After lots of care and love, his injury healed and he now loves hopping, binkying, zooming and standing on his hind legs.
He loves spending time with his foster family, and will happily snuggle up with them. Head pats are a favorite! He loves to play with toys, and will play ‘catch’ with you or a search game with treats. He absolutely loves a good nap.
When Rock Lopster came into the rescue, X-rays revealed what was believed to either be an old injury or cancer. A month later, he was re-X-rayed, and the condition appeared to have gotten worse, and was then believed to be cancer. We did a bone biopsy, and it came back completely negative for any type of cancer, yay! One month after that, another x-ray revealed that there may have been some minor healing to the suspect area.
While the experts aren’t positive what the area of concern is, he functions well, and does not currently need daily pain medication (but that may change in the future). He does require a daily joint supplement. Medication costs, should he need it in the future, are fairly low.
He also broke a toe last summer. It took a couple of months of being confined to his x-pen, but he is healed and doing very well. He will require a rabbit savvy owner, who is willing to take care of, and understands his medical needs.
Although he loves human company, he is not a huge fan of other animals and is terrified of dogs and cats. As such, Rock Lopster MUST go to a home with absolutely NO DOGS OR CATS. This is non-negotiable, as even the sight of a dog or a cat has been known to send him into GI stasis.
