The Manitoba Arts Network held its reception and art party on July 15 for the fifth annual Rural and Northern Juried Art Show at the Edge Gallery and Urban Art Centre.
The Manitoba Arts Network showcased artists’ juried work at its annual exhibition until July 29. The exhibition was supported by the Downtown Winnipeg BIZ, Assiniboine Credit Union, Gardewine Group and the Province of Manitoba, with the goal of bridging the gap between rural artists and Winnipeg’s arts scene, connecting creativity and encouraging conversation.
All three winners of the juried art show were from the Interlake region: Werner Batke of Arnes took third place, Linda Johnson of Ashern won second place and Kathy Freeman of St. Andrews received the first-place prize.
The Manitoba Arts Network is a not for profit, charitable arts service organization, showcasing and advancing performing and visual arts and culture in all regions of Manitoba.
