Michael Pereira is a data journalist and developer who spends his days pulling data from (sometimes unwilling) sources, extracting meaning for readers and producing graphics that tell a story.

Past work includes the Michener-winning Unfounded series along with award-winning projects on Canada's opioid crisis, rail and pipeline incidents, health, real estate, and investigations into Canada's missing and murdered Indigenous women. His work has appeared on the CBC and in The Globe and Mail.

When not thinking about the news, Michael spends his time raising his son, walking the dog, cycling the city and planning the next season's camping trips.
