WINNIPEG – Classic rock added another station on the dial this morning in Winnipeg and country music lost a home.

As of 1 a.m. today, country music fans of Hank FM 100.7 FM might have been surprised to hear the Kiss classic, Rock And Roll All Nite as the station’s new persona, K-Rock, kicked in.

The station, owned by East Coast company NewCap Radio, and had been operating with a country music format since 2006. It now becomes the city’s newest classic rock format station.

K-Rock will feature the award-winning Bob and Tom show, a syndicated morning show, in the 6-to-9 a.m. time slot.

Earlier this year the station had been ranked at the bottom of the ratings for FM stations, hovering around the one per cent mark.
