WINNIPEG – Arson is suspected in a blaze today that damaged a million-dollar house under construction in the city’s southeast.

Firefighters said the house, in the 700 block of John Bruce Road East was already three-quarters involved in flames when they arrived just before 3 a.m. The house was being constructed by Hilton Homes.

No one was injured, but firefighters said they evacuated three people and two dogs from a neighbouring house as a precaution.

Winnipeg police said the arson strike force is investigating the cause of the fire.
