Emily Potter of Winnipeg is among 45 female basketball players born 1994-1997 who have been invited to Canada Basketball’s national age group assessment camp at the University of Toronto on March 23-25.

The camp will include includes on- and off-court sessions and players will be assessed by national coaches.

The age-group assessment camp, along with previous assessments of the identified age-eligible athletes, will assist in determining the pool of athletes from which two national teams will be chosen.

The cadette women’s national team (CWNT) includes players born 1996 or later. It will compete at the FIBA U17 Championship for Women in the Netherlands on August 17 – 28.

The junior women’s national team (JWNT) includes players born 1994 or later. It will compete at the FIBA Americas U18 World Championship for Women in Puerto Rico on August 15-19.

Potter, a Glenlawn Collegiate student, is a member of Manitoba’s provincial under-17 team.
