The Manitoba Government and General Employees Union says University College of the North will shut down its disability services office Tuesday as part of cuts across the Thompson and The Pas campuses.
MGEU has launched a petition among staff demanding president Konrad Jonasson convene a series of regional meetings to discuss UCN’s vision.
The union says that UCN is dropping 10 college one-year and two-year programs this fall, leaving 10 jobs vacant, and eliminating six other jobs entirely.
UCN officials have not immediately responded to an interview request.
