A cyclist from Winnipeg was killed Sunday when he was struck by a van north of the city.
Selkirk RCMP say they responded to the incident on Highway 9 between Netley Road and Kreamer Road just after midnight.
They say a van travelling southbound on Highway 9 struck the cyclist who was travelling in the middle of the road.
The cyclist, 25, was declared dead at the scene.
The 69-year-old driver from Selkirk was not injured.
The driver was not intoxicated and it is not yet known whether the cyclist was. The cyclist was not wearing a helmet. The name of the victim will not be released.
The investigation continues.
