Licking their wounds today at the MTS Centre, the Winnipeg Jets had another visual boost with the return of injured defencemen Mark Stuart and Toby Enstrom to team practice.

Injured Zach Bogosian rejoined practice on Monday.

Enstrom, who hasn’t played since Nov. 23, and Stuart, who went out Dec. 16, were wearing baby-blue non-contact jerseys today.

Neither player will be ready to play this week but Stuart did indicate he’s a bit ahead of his scheduled February return.

Bogosian’s return could happen as early as this weekend,. Enstrom has been tabbed to return sometime in January, while Jacob Trouba, who has been skating on his own, is slated to be back in February.

It’s unknown how long defenceman Grant Clitsome, the fifth of the blueliners to go to the injury list, will be out. His missed game Monday was the first since something happened to him on Saturday.

Enstrom said today he was one happy camper to return to practice.

“It was amazing,” Enstrom said after practice. “It’s been a long time. You always want to be out there and around the guys. Today’s a happy day.

“I’ve been out for a long, long time. I’m just looking now and this is the first time I’m really back with the team. You know what, I’m looking forward and trying to get back out there.”

Enstrom declined to say what happened to him in November or what the nature of his injury was.

“You know what, I don’t really want to look back,” he said. “I mean, it’s been so long without skating and being around the guys. Like I said, I just want to look forward and just try to come back as quick as possible to the game.”

The Jets lost Monday’s home game to San Jose 3-2 on a Sharks goal with 4.5 seconds left in regulation time, falling to 20-13-7 after a 1-3 homestand. They head off for a three-game road trip in four days, starting Thursday against the Arizona Coyotes.

The road trip will mark a stretch of seven games in 11 days, with travel involved to get to each game. That includes the two one-off home games plunked into the next two weeks.

Today, the Jets gave defenceman Dustin Byfuglien and the entire forward line of Andrew Ladd, Bryan Little and Blake Wheeler the day off.
