How many of the extraordinarily exuberant people packing Portage and Main are old enough to remember the original Jets?
They’re young. They’re pumped and they’re rapidly freezing.
Police have closed traffic for blocks in all directions, but more people are arriving as cheers of “We want The Cup” erupt. Fans seem determined to recognize every member of the roster through chants before they go home.
The crowd is loud but incredibly well-behaved. Some people have even brought hockey sticks — when else can they ever play road hockey at the iconic corner?
