Cheng-Tsung Pan took no prisoners on the weekend at Pine Ridge, shooting a five-under 66 today to capture the Players Cup for his first professional victory.
Pan, the 23-year-old product of the University of Washington and native of Taiwan, was 11-under-par on the weekend to score a two-shot victory over Sweden’s Robert Karlsson and claim the top prize of $31,500.
J.J. Spaun, the 54-hold leader, bogeyed the final hole today and slipped to third place with his one-over 72 today, three shots back of the winner.
The top Canadian this week was Hamilton’s Mackenzie Hughes, who shot two-under 69 today to finish alone in fourth, five strokes back of the winner.
More to come.
