Police are investigating after a head-on crash killed a 54-year-old Winkler woman Tuesday morning.

Just before 9 a.m., officers from Carman RCMP were called out to the scene of a crash between two vehicles on Highway 3 near road 17N in the Rural Municipality of Stanley.

A pickup truck and a car had collided head on, and the car’s driver was pronounced dead on the scene. The man, also from Winkler, who had been driving the truck was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Neither of the vehicles had any passengers.

An RCMP spokesman said Wednesday there were no other details to release and police were still investigating.
