ALTONA — Cathy Overton-Clapham is the 2011 Manitoba women's curling champion.
Overton-Clapham won her seventh Manitoba womens title here Sunday evening, defeating Morden’s Chelsea Carey 7-4 in the final of the Scotties Tournament of Hearts.
Overton-Clapham said after the game that she had a feeling good things were to come today.
"I felt great coming out," said Overton-Clapham. "I had a great feeling and I had my draw weight. It was super exciting to be out here, the crowd was great. What a great week."
Overton-Clapham and her team -- third Karen Fallis, second Leslie Wilson and lead Raunora Westcott -- will now represent Manitoba at the Canadian womens curling championship in Charlottetown, Feb. 19-27.
Overton-Clapham will be joined in Charlottetown by defending champion Jennifer Jones, also of Winnipeg.
Jones, who fired Overton-Clapham as her third last spring despite winning the last three Canadian titles with her, will represent Team Canada in Charlottetown.
The two teams meet on the evening draw Feb. 23.
