A 55-year-old Dauphin man is dead following a motor vehicle collision last week.
The incident occurred in the early morning hours of Friday, Apr. 18. Officers from the RCMP detachment in Dauphin and local emergency personnel were called to an accident scene on Municipal Road 151 in the R.M. of Dauphin.
The investigation revealed that a westbound pickup truck collided with an eastbound truck. The driver of the westbound truck was pronounced dead on the scene. His name will not be released. The driver of the other truck, a 25-year-old man, was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Alcohol and failure to wear a seatbelt are considered contributing factors in the collision and resulting death.
The investigation continues.
