A church in Lynn Lake, Manitoba has been destroyed following a fire early this morning.
At approximately 4 a.m. the Lynn Lake RCMP and local emergency services were dispatched to a fire at the community's Anglican Church. Upon arrival, police and the local volunteer fire department found the church to be entirely consumed in the blaze. The structure could not be saved and damages are estimated to be over $200,000.
After investigating the incident, RCMP determined the fire to be an arson.
The local RCMP unit was also dispatched to several other fires in the Lynn Lake area, though the damages of these incidents were minor.They were also determined to be arsons.
The Lynn Lake RCMP and the Thompson Major Crime Unit are currently investigating the fires.
