A 62-year-old man was killed Wednesday and his 50-year-old female passenger hospitalized following a two-vehicle crash in the RM of Rhineland, Carman RCMP report.

Carman RCMP were called to the scene on Highway 30 near Highway 14 around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday along with ambulance and fire crews. The investigation showed a northbound two-trailer grain truck had struck a southbound pickup truck.

The male pickup driver was pronounced dead on the scene. The woman was taken to Altona hospital with undetermined injuries.

Police aren't releasing the name of the deceased. Alcohol is not considered a factor. Poor driving conditions are believed to have contributed to the crash.
