This morning, Mayor Sam Katz introduced a motion at council's executive policy committee that calls on Winnipeg to explore the idea of free on-street parking for veterans.

Mayor Sam Katz introduced a motion to explore the idea of free on-street parking for veterans.

Other Canadian cities including Saskatoon, Brandon, Prince Albert, Red Deer and London have some form of free parking for veterans.

EPC approved the motion, and Winnipeg's public administration will report back to the committee within 90 days.
