A woman whose body was found in the trunk of her car last week was strangled to death, police said today.
Winnipeg police spokesman Const. Jason Michalyshen confirmed this morning that the autopsy on Elizabeth Lafantaisie, 73, was completed this week.

Elizabeth Lafantaisie disappeared Feb. 18. Her body was found inside her car in Osborne Village on Feb. 24.
"The autopsy has been concluded and the cause of death has been attributed to strangulation," he said at a press conference this afternoon.
"This is an incredibly unfortunate incident."
Lafantaisie disappeared on Feb. 18. Her body was found inside her car in Osborne Village on Feb. 24. Police had asked the public for help, including inquiring whether anyone had been seen washing a car suspiciously at a car wash.
Thomas Brine, 25, has been charged with first-degree murder.
