Leader Jon Gerrard, who met with residents of Brandon and Portage la Prairie to talk about water management today, said his party would expand dam systems used along South Tobacco Creek about 150 kilometres south of Winnipeg, provide support for wetlands on farmland and commit to a zero net-loss of wetlands in Manitoba.
"The NDP’s poor water management has let Manitobans down in a big way. We’re making a $20-million commitment that would protect farmland, protect cottagers and protect wetlands," he said in a press release.
"The NDP’s failure on water management hurts our economy every year. This effects everyone in this province."
