A 30-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday and charged with three counts of fraud under $5,000 after an investigation found that unsuspecting victims paid for NHL tickets but did not receive the tickets.
The male suspect responded in January and February to online advertisements posted by the victims indicating they wanted to purchase tickets for Winnipeg Jets home games.
The suspect told the victims he had tickets to sell and asked the victims to e-Transfer money to him but no tickets were sent or received.
The Winnipeg Police commercial crimes unit investigation found three victims who were defrauded of an undisclosed amount of money.
The suspect was released on a promise to appear in court at a later date.
