Police are asking a man who came to the aid of a 75-year-old man assaulted by a baseball bat-wielding attacker to come forward.

An unknown man provided first aid to the victim on Dec. 18 after the 75-year-old was assaulted by another man armed with a baseball bat around 7 p.m. The victim was working in a photo radar van near the intersection of Hespeler Avenue and Silvia Street.

The assault left the victim with various upper body injuries, police said Sunday.

Police believe the unidentified man who gave first aid may have details about the incident. The witness is asked to contact police at 986-2848 or CrimeStoppers at 786-TIPS (8477).
