WINNIPEG -- Investigators from the RCMP detachment in Selkirk have now charged a 32-year-old teacher with sexual exploitation after he allegedly ran off with a former student.
A Canada-wide warrant has been issued for an Ile des Chenes man.
On Sunday, the RCMP asked for the public’s help in locating a 16-year-old girl from Grand Marais, who is believed to have run off with him.
It’s believed the two are heading to Vancouver.
Police said the teen has not been seen since the afternoon of April 28. Police say the man was her recent boyfriend and teacher.
She is described as 5-foot-6, 100 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes with a birthmark on her forehead.
He is described as 5-foot-10 to 6-feet tall, has a thin build, weighs 150 lbs, and has brown hair.
Police said the two people might be travelling in a grey, 2005 Honda Accord, with a Manitoba licence plate FJB 398.
