A passing vehicle scared off a suspect during a sexual assault just after dark in the North End on Saturday, Winnipeg police reported.
Police officers answered a call about the assault at approximately 7:00 p.m. in the vicinity of Aikins Street and College Avenue.
A 22-year-old woman sustained minor injuries as a result of the attack, police said.
The woman reported she was walking to a nearby store when a stranger approached her and assaulted her. At the time, a vehicle was driving nearby and the suspect took off when he saw it.
Winnipeg police are investigating the assault and they have made no arrests.

Police released the following description of the suspect. He is aboriginal in appearance, about 25 years old, approximately six-feet tall, weighing 120 pounds, with short, dark brown hair.
He has yellow teeth and was missing an upper tooth. He also had acne scars on his face.
