There is privacy.

And then there is secrecy.

There are personal reasons for people to leave jobs. Then there are personnel reasons that can involve personal behaviour and, potentially, damage a brand.

Unless they’re handled in a transparent and timely way. David Letterman and Tiger Woods come to mind.

Which brings me back to last Saturday’s column about a charitable organization that helps some of the poorest and most vulnerable people with donations of money, food and clothing and their volunteer time.

And how, as a result, they have a duty to be accountable and open about all matters that affect public trust.
