Despite what your mother has been telling you all these years, you should press that mystery button. In fact, that's what the Winnipeg Arts Council wants Winnipeggers to do as it unveils DIY Field at Central Park.
The interactive light installation is part of the the WAC's Public Art Program. Near the corner of Edmonton Street and Ellice Avenue sit 36 posts, each outfitted with LED lights that shine eight different hues. People are encouraged to get hands-on, creating a light show or game with the flashing, vibrant lights.
DIY Field was created by Germaine Koh, a Vancouver artist. The official unveiling takes place today at 5:30 p.m., but for a sneak peek watch the video below, or on YouTube here.
