The canine unit tracked down two men who allegedly pepper-sprayed a homeowner in the 500 block of Stella Avenue after forcing their way into his home.
Const. Jason Michalyshen said that the two men, aged 26 and 18, were tormenting and pepper-spraying the homeowner’s dogs in a fenced-in back yard around 4 a.m. Wednesday.
When the homeowner confronted them, the two suspects allegedly forced their way inside the house and pepper-sprayed the homeowner, then fled on foot.
The canine unit tracked the suspects to Main Street and Dufferin Avenue, where they were arrested.
The two men face charges of break, enter dwelling house; possession of weapon for dangerous purpose; unauthorized possession of weapon; cruelty to animals. One is also charged with failure to comply with sentence.
