TORONTO - Police have charged five people in a multimillion-dollar theft of silver bars in northwest Toronto.
Investigators say 150 of the bars, worth a total of US$2 million, were stolen sometime between Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
Between Jan. 20 and Feb. 6, officers executed four search warrants and recovered all but one of the missing bars.
The five suspects face a total of 20 charges.
Toronto police say the investigation continues.
A spokesman declined to identify the suspects, nor would he say where the silver was stolen from.
