City councillor Vivian Santos has resigned from the Winnipeg Police Board.
Coun. Santos (Point Douglas) notified other city councillors Tuesday that the Winnipeg Police Service did not approve her security clearance for the board position, and as such resigned her seat.
She was appointed to the board by city council on June 26 and was recently named acting deputy mayor by Mayor Brian Bowman in mid-June.
The Winnipeg Free Press has reached out to Santos for comment.
