A Sandy Bay First Nation man is facing criminal charges after an armed stand-off with police.
Manitoba First Nations Police Service officers were dispatched to a home in Sandy Bay on Jan. 9 after receiving reports of a man armed with a gun.
Officers surrounded the home and saw a male suspect armed with a gun. The suspect refused to leave the home.
Police entered the home and arrested the suspect without incident. Officers found a loaded sawed-off .22 calibre rifle with ammunition inside the residence.
A 25-year-old man from Sandy Bay is facing 14 criminal charges, including six firearm offences. He was held in custody pending a court date.
